Homework is Not A Waste of Time
Do you think that homework is a waste of time? Well, I don't think it is because we understand more of what we learned at school, it gives us a chance to show how responsible we are by working independently, and it teaches us how to become more organized. These are just some of the reasons why I think that homework is not a waste of time. But I'm sure that there are plenty more of why homework is a good thing.
One reason why I think homework isn't a waste of time is because it teaches us how to become more organized. As we grow older, we become more organized because each year we learn how to organize our homework altogether and put it aside from other things so that it doesn't get lost. It also prepares us for high school because when we go, there would be a lot of homework from the different classes and we would also have to organize them so that they won't be submitted to the wrong teacher. Without homework, we wouldn't be as organized as we are right now. The more organized you are, the faster you get things done.
Furthermore, I think homework isn't a waste of time is because we understand more of what we learned at school by doing it at home. It gives us a clearer understanding of that specific subject or lesson that we learned that day. When we go back to school the next day, we would already understand the previous lesson so we could go ahead instead of repeating it. It also builds up our knowledge in that subject. I'm sure that everyone would want a clear understanding first then move on, instead of moving on and not understanding anything.
The last reason why I think homework isn't a waste of time is because it gives us a chance to show how responsible we are by doing it independently. We can demonstrate how good of a leader/role model we are by completing all of our homework on time. As a result of handing it in on time, we get a grade for homework completion. It also prepares us for the future when we start to do things on our own. Also, by showing your responsibility the teachers could depend on you more when they want you to bring something in or to finish something.
Becoming more responsible, organized, and getting a clear understanding, all the reasons why I think homework is not a waste of time. Homework may be boring, but there's a lot of good that you get from it. We work independently and we become more responsible when we finish homework on time. Wouldn't you want to be a good role model to all by showing your responsibility and organizational skills?

Dear Ranielle,
ReplyDeleteAwesome job. Your hook grabbed my attention and, you clearly stated the topic of your essay in your introduction. I liked how you usedd logical connectives and, rhetorical questions.
Hi Ranielle!
ReplyDeleteWhat I liked about your paragraph is that you used rhetorical questions and how you made your opininos sound like facts. Somehings you can improve on is using stronger adjectives and forcing the opinion by challenging the reader. Overall, You paragraph was really good!
Hi Ranielle, your essay is good and I like your concluding sentence because it keeps the reader thinking. Two things that you can work on are adding strong vocabulary in there and how to restate your reasons in a different way at the end.
ReplyDeleteDear Ranielle,
ReplyDeleteYour essay was pretty convincing. I liked how you stated what you were going to talk about in your introduction paragraph. The hook kind of grabbed my attention. I love the use of rhetorical questions. It makes the reader want to read on more. I epically love how you stated 'Wouldn't you want to be a good role model to all by showing your responsibility and organizational skills?' It challenges the reader to argue against your essay. Your essay was wonderful, but something you might want to try improving on is just more emotive language and more quotes.
