Kris I.L.I.T.E
At the I.L.I.T.E trip, there were many students from many different schools. Also, James and Mike from Positive Gear came to the I.L.I.T.E event. A singing crew called StarChild-X sang a few songs and sang on 99.9 Virgin Radio, my FAVORITE radio station! They were Starchild, J-Walz, and D Lon. There was another singer there also, his name was Diego, and he was on The Next Star, my least favourite shows. The comedian, Stu Saunders, made jokes that made me laugh really hard.
During the lunch break, that was when the singers and dancers came out; the comedian came out before our first workshop at the beginning of the I.L.I.T.E event. One of the dancers freaked me out because it
looked like he was going to dislocate all of the bones in his body. I.L.I.T.E. is Intermediate Leaders In Training Event. It is a leadership event full of amazing workshops. I had so much fun on my first workshop. During the first workshop we did games for self and a group work. We also learned what leadership is all about. The second workshop was so boring; I didn't even want to be there in the first place. All we did was talk and watch a boring video which we never finished. Also, I never learned anything in the second workshop, except that Black history month is in a certain month, and that Aboriginal history month is on a certain month and etc. We also talked about the war of 1812; I got a poster about it.
The I.L.I.T.E trip was from about 9:00 A.M- 2:30 P.M. When I got to the bus at 8:00, I was sooo tired! The I.L.I.T.E event was at a large high school called Mother Teresa. Many people from many different schools came to the I.L.I.T.E event. Also, people from different high schools came to volunteer to set up and do the I.L.I.T.E event. Even though many different schools came, a few never attended and only a
few students/classes from their schools came. The I.L.I.T.E event had a lot of people that could learn to be great leaders. Speaking ofwhich, at my first workshop, I learned a lot about leadership.

Zoink'd
Have you always wanted to go to a funny, entertaining, exciting, live
TV show? Well then I think zoink'd is perfect for you! Zoink'd is a TV show that will be on YTV in March break in 2012. The zoink'd studio is in the CBC building in downtown Toronto, ON. The game is simple.
Adults come on stage to preform things that they think is cool. The judges zoink them if they don't like it. Three zoinks and you get gooed or hit with ball of different sizes. The rest of the judges give out points. The contestant with the most points wins and is zoink'd master. And did I tell you that the judges are kids?!
At the show there were four kid judges. Kid judges?! Now when do you
get to ever see that? The judges are Natalie, Wyse, Aleksa, and Neal. I've never heard of the last three names before. The host of zoink'd is really cool! He is Adam! Here is a guy everyone would scream about.
The host of YTV! CCCAAARRRLLLOOOSSS! I can't believe Carlos came! Many people in the seats got to high-five Carlos and handshake Adam. I got to handshake Adam. I wish I got to high-five Carlos.
There were also many contestants. The contestants were funny because they wore funny costumes, danced crazily, cried like babies, and best of all, zoink'd! The zoink'd master with $1000 was James Murphy! The
runner up was Rob Patterson! Their scores were the closest scores yet! Rob got 36 and James got 39 points! The amazing thing was that they both never got zoink'd!
On our breaks we had so much fun! There were people singing, dancing and doing wacky stuff! After a while when the people came down to do their talent, they ran out of prizes. During the breaks after a zoink'd a crue called the goo crue cleaned up all the "zoink'd" messes. The threw all of the excess ball into the crowd. Also the person at the top of the "goo station" threw a few balls too! I went down to the bottom of the steps just to get a ball. There was also a game a game were you would get a marshmallow a try to throw it in  Adams mouth and you would get a prize. Near the end, I went down to do my talent. I did the worm! Sadly I never got a prize. At least I got
the ball! Anyways, that was awesome!
Zoink'd was a great show! In my opinion I rate this show #5 on YTV. I wish that I could be on the show and get the $1000, be zoink'd champion, and be zoink'd with the goo all at the same time! Tuesday's trip to zionk'd was ecstatic, entertaining, funny, and amazing all at the same time! Zoink'd was like Teen Ranch. That is how fantastic it is! Be zany or be zoink'd!
Parable Assignment

Summary

While Jesus was walking, he that his disciple Matthew was at the tax
booth. Jesus told Matthew to follow him. Matthew followed him. He
followed Jesus into a house and they sat down at a dinner. Many tax
collectors and sinners came to sit with Jesus. Pharisees saw Jesus and
asked him: "Why do you sit with sinners and tax collectors?" Jesus
heard them and answered: "those whom are well don't need a doctor but
only the sick. Leave now and go learn what this means. I prefer not
sacrifice but mercy. I call upon the sinners, not the righteous.

Reflection

I think that Jesus sits with tax collectors and sinners because they
show mercy and Jesus prefers mercy instead of sacrifice. The moral of
the story is to learn and acknowledge the ways of sinners, tax
collectors, sick, and merciful people.

PRAYER
Dear loving God,
Help us to care about one another and to those who need help. Lord I
beg you to help and help us shelter the poor, feed the hungry, cure
the sick, and give a drink to the thirsty. Help everyone to get
through their day forever. Keep everyone in your care.
Amen.

Teen Ranch Camp
What is Teen Ranch? Teen Ranch is a camp for people to have fun. Teen Ranch is in Orangeville, Ontario. The camp is a really beautiful. There is a really nice pond at the bottom of the steps to the dining hall. There is also a big lake on campus. At the ranch everyone did cool things like ice skating and horseback riding. Out of all the camps I've been to, Teen Ranch is one of my favourite camps. Teen Ranch is really an outstanding camp.
The food at Teen Ranch was really good. I think that everyone really liked the food at Teen Ranch. The food is so good that you would always want more food. Lots more food! On my first meal we ate perogies, sausages, and salad. At the rest of my week I ate lots of delicious food like hamburgers, breakfast sandwich, fajitas, nachos, and chicken with rice. Yumm! Every day for the meals you can sit wherever you want to sit. I really like that because at another camp I had to sit at a certain seat. For the desert they have ice cream apple crumble and delicious cookies. Delish! All of the delicious food comes from the dining hall. You can smell the food from far away! I really like the food at Teen Ranch.
In my opinion I think that the cabins, inside and out, were really nice. I really liked sleeping inside the cabins because it was really quiet. That meant that I could sleep in peace. All of the boys' cabins, from cabin 10-6, was called Pokey's Pit. There were 2 cabins in 1 house. I was in cabin 7 with Zion, Lucas, Noah G, Justin S, and myself. Cabin 8 was across from my cabin. Our whole house was really funny because we made lots of funny jokes. I think that everyone in our house had a really great time at Teen Ranch inside the cabins.
Frolf, ice skating, horseback riding, rock climbing, trampoline, and predator and prey were the daytime activities I did. The ice skating was cool! Literally! When I was skating, I fell down a lot but I didn't get hurt. We skated twice in the large Olympic sized ice rink. At the Ranch, famous NHL players come to Teen Ranch and practice in the rink. The players stay in a nice hotel on Teen Ranch campus. I really like horseback riding. When we got to choose our horses, I chose Oscar. I chose Oscar because when we were reviewing our instructions, Oscar was looking at me. I was at the gate at the barn when Oscar was looking at me. I was really excited about our first ride. It was so fun. On our last ride I chose Oscar again. We finally trotted. On our first trot I felt so good. The trot was awesome! On the trot I was so high I thought that I was going to fall off the saddle! Before our last trot Oscar got scared and I wonder why? At Teen Ranch there was a trampoline. I went on the trampoline a lot of the time we were at Teen Ranch. I really liked the trampoline because I did a lot of cool tricks and I didn't get hurt. I also went rock climbing. On our first climb I got to the top fast! On the 3rd time I raced to the top to beat a record. On my practice I got 15 seconds. On my real run I got 14 seconds and beat the record. The old record was 20 seconds. The new record is 14 seconds. The fastest time ever on that wall was 7 seconds! Wow that's fast!  I also played a game called frolf. What is frolf? Frolf is Frisbee golf. The same rules as golf but you have a Frisbee and you have to hit the pole. On our last day we played predator and prey. It is a game with animals, diseases, whether, and funness. It was a great game. I was chased and was the chaser. I was in the middle. At the end of the game I got 21 when cards. That means I ate well in the game.
I really like the night time activities. On our first night we watched a movie. The movie was the karate kid. After that day I watched the movie 3 times. This movie was different. It was faster because it was newer.it was a good movie. On the second night we had a karaoke/dance night. It was awesome! Everyone's favourite song played. Everyone danced and sang along to the songs. On our last night we had a bonfire. Everyone roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. Hannah told a scary story and I got scared. I hate scary stories.
At the end of Teen Ranch, all of the boys took a big group picture at the bottom of the steps to the dining hall. We all left a few minutes after the picture. I think Teen Ranch was a great experience for me. This was an outstanding camp. It is my favourite camp. I wish everyone could have a great experience like me. Teen Ranch is fantastic!

                    John McCrae

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow…" John McCrae wrote this line while at war. These words come from McCrae's poem:" In Flanders fields". Mr. McCrae was born on November 30, 1872 and was raised in his birth place: Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Many years later, John started attending classes at the University of Toronto. In 1900, he stated going to McGill University in MontrĂ©al. Mr. McCrae served as an artillery subaltern from 1899-1900 in the Canadian Contingent during the Boer war in South Africa. Thereafter, John McCrae became a Sargent. Just then, on July 8, 1914, the First World War started. Later John McCrae went to war and stated fighting in Ypres, Belgium on April of 1915 and became the officer of medicine. I think that war is brutal and gruesome. The only reason soldiers go to war is because they need to protect us. Many months later on June 1, 1915, John was transferred to Boulogne No.3 General Hospital as the officer of medicine. Earlier that day Mr. McCrae wrote his new poem: "In Flanders fields". Months later "In Flanders fields" was published by Punch magazine on December 8, 1915. John was allowed to keep his positions until his death. On January 28, 1918, John died due to pneumonia. John McCrae died at the age of 45. The war ended on November 11, 1918. John McCrae was enlisted in the first Canadian Contingent just after the First World War.
