Hoodhood or Kowalski

There are two fathers in the book called "The Wednesday Wars". As a result there are 3 differences and 3 similarities between both fathers. Therefore I will start off with the similarities. Firstly they both are competitive. Secondly the both are architects that are the ones who build buildings and other structures. Thirdly but in this case it is the last one in similarities. It is that they both care about their work more than the children. Moreover there are 3 differences between the fathers. Firstly they have different types of models. Mr. Hoodhood has more of a modern type of model for the school. This causes Mr. Kowalski to have more of a classical type of model for the school. Secondly they have different ideas as an architect to build houses and each of the buildings or houses are different for that reason. Thirdly they Mr. Hoodhood has a son and Mr. Kowalski has a daughter. Well that is all the differences and similarities between Mr. Hoodhood and Mr. Kowalski.

Macbeth Summary

         

Have you heard about the wonderful and awesome William Shakespeare play Macbeth? Are you wondering who the characters in Macbeth are!! They are the 3 witches and this character named Toad. Well Macbeth sets in Scotland. Therefore Macbeth starts off with a brief appearance by the three witches who are brewing a magic position designed to help fulfill an evil prophecy. Moreover the play cuts to the military camp where the Scottish King Duncan hears the news that his generals, Macbeth and Banquo have defeated two separate armies in battle. Consequently Macbeth became the king of Scotland. Also he thinks that perhaps the witches' prophecy was.

          Specifically Macbeth and his wife get the kings chamberlains (guard /servants) so drunk that they passed out until the next morning. Therefore Macbeth stabs King Duncan in his sleep and plans to blame the murder on the chamberlains. Suddenly they found out Macbeth kills the chamberlains pretending that he has killed them because he's so angry that they murdered King Duncan. Macbeth remembers the witches' prophecy that Bonquo's heir (successor) would one day become King of Scotland. Macbeth is really paranoid and hires someone to murder Banquoi and his son Fleance. Furthermore Macbeth found men are "born of women" and he feels safe about it. He also found out forests cannot move!!! Macbeth is devastated at the loss of his wife. MacDuff tells Macbeth that he was not "born of woman" which Macbeth is scared of. Fleance, son of Banquo, also becomes King of Scotland. All prophecies are fulfilled. 

Homework is a waste of time!!

Is homework a waste of time and does homework destroying our freedom and happiness. If you want no homework and tell people that homework is a waste of time. Then listen well because this is my point of view and it may help you.

The first reason why homework is a waste of time. Is that some kids have chores to do but they cannot do them because they homework. If they don't there chores they get in trouble and they get grounded. So if you think this is right fight for the power.

The second reason why homework is a waste of time. Is that most students have after school programs and won't be able to finish their homework. This is a point but it is my weakest point out of all the points.

                                  

The third reason why homework is a waste of time. Is that the work that we got to do at home is just a review of what we did at school. We, as kids can memorize easily since our brains are always developing. This is a point I like and it is a very strong point.

Lent

We all know that Lent is 40 days fasting because Jesus didn't have food or water to eat or drink in the dessert. It starts when you get a cross made for ashes on your forehead to star the Lent event. So during this event we have to alms giving, fasting, and we pray to Jesus. Therefore when Jesus was in the desert for 40 days there was a devil who tried to make Jesus eat and drink but he refused to. He is immortal but his body was mortal. So I am fasting from all my electronics and meat on every Fridays. I am not going go all 40 days without food or something to drink I am only doing it on Fridays. We should start not being rude or mean to others. The 40 days doesn't include Sundays and it is until Easter which is the most important festival in this calendar of Christians. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday and the last week of Lent is called Holy week. Remember Lent is for giving up things. This is to remind people why Jesus went to the desert for 40 days. The day before Lent is Shrove Tuesday. It is also known as Pancake Tuesday and all catholic schools have this event before Lenten season.

Action

Be zany, be hilarious make the judges impressed or you will be Zoink'd. Thinking about auditioning for Zoink'd! I have a word that I would like to say "Get ready to be Zoink'd." If you want to be slimy go ahead and audition I am warning you. Do not say that I did not warn you. If you want to see others do wacky and hilarious performances come and watch as an audience not as a contestant.

Zoink'd is a hilarious dramatical show where the weirdest things happen. Adults come to show and they are allowed to perform whatever they want. There was one contestant who cried just like a baby would cry! If the judges are not impressed by these performances the contestant gets "Zoink'd" which means they are covered in slime! The winner of the show is the contestant who does not get Zoink'd while also having the highest points. The show is the hilarious to watch and slimy for the contestants.

 The show was fun and entertaining. I was able to meet and talk to the host Carlos. He is someone I think is entertaining and it was a dream come true to be able to meet him. As I watched the show I had a good laugh with my friend's every time a contestant was Zoink'd. Another exciting part of the show was being able to speak to the judges! Zoink'd been not only entertaining to watch but it was also fun to meet such cool people.

 Though the show was fun I was also able to learn educationally from it as well. I learnt how important it is to be a good sportsman. Some contestants were very upset when they lost but in a competition there will always be a winner and a loser you just have to be happy with either. I also kept that in order to be better than the next contestant to be the winner. The winner needs hard work to be crowned Zoink'd master and would be awarded $1000 but the $1000 are in pennies.

            There was fun and entertaining in my paper. What else do you need for this entertaining show? This is my word to you that is to be hilarious, but do wacky and funny talents but if you do not impress the judges you are "Zoink'd." I am just going to say that while I was an audience I was happy. If you are a contestant get ready to be slimy from the judges. Don't be jealous because one day you can be on TV.

Jesus the Good Shepherd


Jesus identifies himself as the gate that leads to salvation for whoever enters by him. Jesus identifies himself as the good shepherd who knows his sheep and lays down his life for them. Earlier in John 10, Jesus describes a sheepfold, which was a circular enclosure, often made of stones. In ordinary practice, sheep were brought into the fold at night so that they would be protected from predators and thieves. During the day, the sheep were taken out of the fold to graze in the pasture. The sheepfold is a metaphor for the people of God. By identifying himself as the gate or door, Jesus indicates that those who believe in him belong to a wider community. Through faith, they relate to God and to God's people. The pattern of going in and out of the sheepfold recognizes that the faithful regularly gather as a community, then go out into the world, then gather together again. This repeated movement from gathered community out into the world and then back again characterizes the life of faith. This is one of the seven "I am" sayings in John's Gospel. Since the expression "I am" recalls the name of God, who is the "I Am" these sayings emphasize that Jesus is God's Word in the flesh.

The moral of this passage is to tell the shepherd that if there is a person sneaking in he is not a good shepherd. He who comes before me is a thief and a bandit.
Jesus declares that He is "the gate for the sheep." In other words, Jesus is claiming that He is the One who provides entrance into "the sheepfold,' and He is the only entrance into the fold. Jesus is declaring that He, as the eternal Son of God and the Savior sent by God, is the only way by which we can be redeemed from the righteous judgment of God and restored to fellowship with God. Jesus alone can give us access to the kingdom of God. A hired hand works with the sheep, but he is not a shepherd; he works for money, he feels no love or devotion to the sheep. The hired hand does not have a personal interest in the sheep because they do not belong to him: the sheep are his living, but they are not his life; he tends the sheep, but he is not tenderly attached to them. The hired hand will not risk his life for the sheep: he sees the wolf coming, he forsakes the sheep and runs for his life; he flees because he does not care about the sheep. In contrast to the hired hand, Jesus declares that as the Good Shepherd, He cares for the sheep, so much so that He willingly lays down His life for His sheep. Six times in this passage Jesus declares that as the Good Shepherd He will lay down His life for His sheep because of His commitment to His Father, and because of His great love for His sheep, Jesus as the Good Shepherd protects His sheep with His own life. In an emergency a good shepherd would venture to risk his life for his sheep but Jesus, as the Good Shepherd, came into the world for the express purpose of voluntarily laying down His life for His sheep! Jesus laid down His life to protect His sheep from the righteous wrath of God by satisfying the righteous demands of God's justice. In His resurrection life Jesus continues to plead on behalf of His people and guarantees our protection until we arrive safely at our heavenly Father's home.

The Great Trip At Teen Ranch

        Do you wonder what Teen Ranch is about? If you said yes today I am able to talk to you about Teen Ranch. I went to Teen ranch last week with my class and the other grade 7's classes and it was the greatest trip ever. We were at Teen Ranch for four days and three nights it was awesome. There were day activities and night activities. It was like living with my friend and wasn't pushed around by my parents.

We got to Teen Ranch around 11:30 and missed breakfast. There was an orientation until lunch time. The orientation was done and we had lunch. The lunch was perogies, sausages, and vegetables. The taste was still on my tongue and I couldn't wait till dinner because that is how good it tasted. The food was served right at every meal time. We had 4 coloured pins: red, blue, yellow, and green they were for setting up every meal. Each group had a turn to set up the meals. I was in the red group and the red group supposed to do breakfast but we missed breakfast we had to do lunch. This is a way to be responsible.

       We got choose which cabin we wanted to be in. I stayed with my friends Victoria, Megan.D, Alexandra, Helena, and Kimberley. We shared on bathroom and there was a stall in our washroom. There were four bunk beds and a single bed. Helena, Alexandra, Victoria, and I slept on the top bunks. Kimberley and Megan slept on the bottom bunks. We got along but one night we heard taping and scratching on the window and the door, I got scared to death. I would advise the next year grade seven students to sleep on the bottom bunk.

We went horseback riding and my horse's name was Ivy. It was a mother of a grey horse and when we went for a walk my horse got scared and jumped quickly when I was on it. When we were starting to do the trot I thought I was going to fall but at the end of the trot it was fun so I wanted to do it again. You should always be confident in yourself when you are doing the trot. We also went skating. I love skating and I have been skating since I was little. I fell once or twice on the ice because when I got on the ice first I fall. I was helping Megan and Alexandra to skate. We were at the skating rink for an hour and through that one hour it was magnificent. Lastly we played the game predator and prey. I liked this game because it was really amazing game.  Was a chipmunk and I got caught 3 times in a row. But what really hurt is when I tripped over a gate and got a big bruise on my leg. That is why you watch where you're walking.

      

We had a bonfire night and I love bonfires. They are my favourite because we get to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. We had seconds on hot dogs and marshmallows but they fooled us that someone was going to scare us. That is why in case we were walking in a group so we don't get scared. But at the end of the bonfire there was no prank and I felt fooled. We had a dance night and it was super incredible. There were great songs because Ranielle brought over 100 songs. Everybody was dancing because the songs were fantastic. Lastly we had a karaoke night and I loved karaoke night because people get to sing and dance. I participated in all singing and dancing. There was a great song to sing or to dance to. We had a cabin dance off. That night is what I cannot forget in my life.

John McCrae

     John McCrae was not new to war. June 1, 1915, McCrae was transferred to Boulogne. He served as artillery in the Canadian continent during the Boer War in South Africa. He was that position till his death. The Boers were fighting against British's attempt to integrate South Africa into the British Empire. December 8, 1915 John McCrae wrote a poem after World War I and it is called "In Flanders Fields." The poem "In Flanders Fields" was published in1919. John McCrae was born in Guelph, Ontario. He died in Boulogne on January 29, 1918. John McCrae's profession is a soldier and a Medical officer. The importance of John McCrae is that he wrote a famous poem called "In Flanders Field." John McCrae first started fighting at the Ypres to help the wounded who couldn't be brought to the station. He was educated at the University of Toronto. He became a physician at the Alexandra Hospital and assistant physician at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. John McCrae wrote the poem about the feeling around him.
