Lent is a 40 day period leading up to Easter. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. It is all about sacrificing in the name of Christianity.During the 40 days of Lent we remember the time when Jesus was in the humid and dry desert. He had no food or water plus the devil lurked in and started tempting him the whole time. For Jesus it was a time of resisting the devil. Jesus sacrificed food and water for 40 days so we give up something for the time being. The things we give up for Lentvary from food to addictions to hitting or making fun of others. The three main things we do on Lent are alms giving, praying and fasting.
Each of them are great ways to celebrate Lent. Lent is one of the most important celebrations we celebrate as Catholics.
I'm starting to know more about Lent then i did before. Your Lent essay explained the main things on what Lent is about, and was easy to go through. Something i wish you did better was just explaining more about Lent in details. This would help people who know nothing about Lent understand it a little more.
