ALL ABOUT OUR CLASS

The principal objective of any language program is to teach students to become better readers and writers. Research reveals the more a child reads, the better reader s/he becomes. When reading, readers become better writers as they are exposed to the writing of others. Grammar and vocabulary grow as does the very desire to write. How then do we get students, budding adolescents to write more?

Throughout the year, students will read and enjoy many different types of literature. Reading skills, including critical analysis and comprehension, as well as study skills, writing, thinking, speaking, researching, grammar, and vocabulary skills will be stressed. I will also be integrating technology into all these curricular areas and will take advantage of our school computers and SMART BOARD on a regular basis.

In  an article entitled The Joy of Blogging,  Davis & McGrail state " When their audience is the whole world, students are motivated to be the best writers they can." While this will be a private blog, I hope that students will be motivated to express themselves, while learning about themselves and he whole around them.
They are...all digital learners
