Lent
Lent is a time of giving up what's special to you for 40 days and 40 nights like when Jesus went into to desert without food, and water. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday the priest puts ashes from burnt palm
leaf on our forehead the ashes symbolise God made us from ashes and one day we will die. When we give up things it means that whatever you love can't control you in any way and you live without it and it also
makes you stronger and helps you in life to resist temptation. There are many foods christens don't eat in lent such as meat, fish, eggs, fats, and milky products. We do this to show we the lord we can go
without things for a long time. Lent can even go more or less than 40 days. Lot of people will most likely give up alcohol, smoking, and drinking. When Jesus was in the desert Satan tried to tempt Jesus to do
several things but Jesus stayed on track and did what right and continued to fast. So lent isn't for not eating it is about to gowithout things and show it can't control you in life.
