Student roles: Computer Navigator - this student will use the internet sources to help find the answers as well as enter the info on the PowerPoint slides
Note Taker - this student will write down the answers to the questions while researching and will help the Computer Navigator enter the info on the powerpoint slides
Step 1: Once you and your partner know your topic, you will decide who will be the "computer navigator" and who will be the "note taker".
Step 2: Pick up the guided question sheet. They are at the front of the room and are titled according to your research topic. There will be 5 questions to guide your research on your topic. In addition, write down three questions you have about your topic to help guide your research. These questions cannot be "yes" or "no" questions - the answers need to have detailed answers. For instance: "Is Vietnam near China?" would not be an appropriate quetsion, however "Where is Vietnam in relation to China?" would work, because you have to find a more detailed answer. *** You cannot ask that question! It was just an example ***
There will also be 3 questions about Long Island and 5 questions about Gary Schmidt.
Step 3: Use the following website sources, depending on your topic, to answer your guided question sheet, as well as the three questions you had on your topic.
