Treasures New and Old
Scripture Verse: Matthew 13:52
In Matthew 13:52, Jesus said to them that every teacher of the Law
who becomes a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a master who
brings out new and old treasures. In each house-hold, there is a
disciple who is the master. The master inherits new people and just
brings out the old. Each one has many different people, either the
righteous or wicked. The treasures in each household are the people in
them.
The lesson in the 'Parable of Treasures New and Old' is that the good
will be separated from the bad; therefore the disciples are the
masters who bring out the treasures. Jesus was trying to say that when
we die, we will be separated by the angels from the wicked or
righteous. He was giving a story about what will happen in Heaven to
His people. The lesson that I learned is that Heaven is a place full
of different people that are in different households/places. When
Jesus told this parable, He probably wants us to live for today but
prepare for tomorrow.
