Luke 16:1-12
The Parable of the Dishonest Manager

This parable is about a rich man and his manager. The rich man was told that the manager was squandering his property. The rich man got furious and fired the manager. The manager was really solemn after he got fired because he wasn't strong enough to dig, and to ashamed to beg. Then the manager had a brilliant idea. He got together all the debtors of the rich man. He asked everyone what they owed the rich man and he paid for it. He thought that if he gave a helping hand to others then they would welcome him into their homes so he won't have to beg. Then the rich man condemned the manager because he acted shrewdly.

I think that when Jesus told this parable he meant that we should all have friends. If we have trustable friends that look out for us then in our times of trouble they will be kind to us and help us. If we can't be trusted in little we can not be trusted in much. If we are dishonest in little then we will be dishonest in much.
