My Weekend By.Kat
Last weekend was not the best weekend was not my favourite weekend but it was fun. Friday night my friends Hannah, Cameron and I went to the movie theaters to see Dolphin Tale. I didn't really want to see it because I thought it was going to be like another Free Willy. I don't really like to watch animal movies because I find they always end up being sad. So anyways when we got to the theaters we bought popcorn a drinks and candy. When we got into the theater there was no one there. So my friends and I waited for about ten minutes and then people started to show up and the previews started. After about 20 minutes of previews the movie started but then the screen went blank and we had to wait 10 minutes for the movie to start. So after about two hours of a really boring movie we all went to Cameron's house for a sleepover. When we got to Cameron's house we played Foosball and made cookies. At about 11p.m we wanted to watch a Halloween movie but Cameron didn't have any so we just watched TV. We fell asleep at about 12:30p.m. The next morning we woke up at about 7:30a.m and Hannah wanted to go to the park. It was really cold outside so we decided to wear winter hats, gloves and scarfs before we left Cameron told us she had Arizona's for us I was excited because that was my first time trying an Arizona. So we went to the park and at the park there is this really big rock so Hannah Cameron and I sat on it and we waved to the cars who passed by, the people inside the cars were looking at us weird because we were wearing winter clothing. So that's the end of my weekend.

Too Weird To Be A Dream By:Anita
Try imaging a dark, rainy, miserable, scenery, now picture 3 annoying brothers, a late alarm clock, missing a dance performance and on top of it all picture you in the middle of it. You can probably picture how my weekend went. It all started when I woke up, about 1 p.m. in the afternoon. In the morning, now afternoon you'd feel a little cranky. Well that how I felt times 10, I had slept through the ringing of my alarm, which I set so I could get ready for my dance performance that probably started 2 hours ago. I slowly made my way downstairs, right after I brushed my teeth and made my bed, hoping that that will take my mind off all the chaos. I grabbed some bread and put it in the toaster and took at some orange. Which to my surprise, there was none of? So I guess milk it was, I slowly took out some milk and poured it in a glass cup. I drank some milk just to notice that milk actual does have an expiry date. I quickly spat out the lumpy chunks of milk, and chugged down fresh water. Oh yeah and you might ask about my toast, well I really don't know what happened to it. To take off my mind off all that chaos, I went to the living room to watch TV. Ten minutes into my favourite show the power went off so I had to read. Next thing I knew was I was covered by a big blanket, and I heard a buzz. It was my alarm clock waking me up from my unthinkable dream.

My Best Weekend

My weekend was fun, good, great, kind of boring. On Saturday I came to the school for choir rehearsal. Then I went to Sears to buy some clothing for my mom. After we bought clothes for my mom I went to Sirens to buy two leather jackets for me and my sister. There was a big fuss over a DISCOUNT CARD because we got 20% discount on our jackets and the lady put that discount on the card. The manager got really mad started getting mad. After they got it straight forward and we picked up mom and went home. On Sunday I woke up at 1:00pm and I went downstairs and ate breakfast then lunch and I finished at like 2:30pm I watch T.V for like 30mins and it was 3:00pm. Then I took a shower, and I take 40minute showers. After I took a shower I had to get ready for Tamil mass that is like 2 hours long. When I got inside the church I saw my cousin, and we are like close BFF or like sisters. Then the mass started and we had to go to the English class because we didn't understand the Tamil prayers. After the English class was done we went to sit with our parents. After we got up to get our body of Christ and the mass was done and we went to the basement because they offered some food to eat. Then suddenly my mom told me she was done work I didn't want to leave. I had to go pick her up and bought some food and straight from there we went home. This is the end of my weekend hope you enjoyed it.

This was the best most awesome weekend ever. I played soccer and went to my cousin's birthday. When I had my soccer game we faced Ajax and they are the top team in my league. We all tried our best but we lost 3-2. They scored at the last second. My team was upset but they knew we tried our best. There were a couple unlucky bounces but that's how the game goes. At my cousins birthday everyone had a blast. My cousin got an iPod touch the only thing he wanted for his birthday. I asked "don't you want anything other than an iPod touch. He said "I also would like a pair of shoes." The funny thing about it is that I got him a new pair of shoes. I hope to have another awesome weekened.

On the weekend I met the most awesome band ever, the Makaha Sons. They have played for the presidents, Japanese cultural centres and much, much more. There the most popular band in Hawaii. They have 22CDs. They have been singing for 35 years. At the performance, they sang "Lovely hula hands" and"Keep your eyes on the hands". If you ever wanted them to perform at a birthday party or a special event, it would cost you 300-1000 or more. I would love for them to perform at my birthday party, but there too expensive. I had such a great time at their performance. They were such a good band; I can't wait to listen to them again.Tue, Oct 4/11 My Journal Entry By: Josh
I had a pretty cool time over the weekend. First of all on Saturday I woke up super early for some reason and I felt really lazy at the time. I took a huge jump on to the couch and settled down with some popcorn. I felt so relaxed at the time but then I realized something. I had hockey practice today and it was my first one! Also my brother had hockey at around 11:00 am so I hassled him to wake up (he is a heavy sleeper so it took a while to get him up and running) but then I realized another problem. My dad was at work. My brother finally woke up told me he didn't want to go to his practice so I let him go. I ran downstairs to my mom and she explained to me my dad was going to come home early because of 2 reasons. 1. My hockey practice and 2. It was my Aunt's anniversary today. Then I decided to just relax on the couch. Also my brother was going to a birthday party but that didn't really affect me. I was stoked about my hockey. As I got on the ice it felt like I really belonged there. It was my second year but I went to a very advanced hockey camp and everyone thought I had played for years. One bad thing about my hockey was my helmet was too tight. Well that didn't matter because I was on my way to my Aunt's house. I had a blast there because all my cousins and Aunts and Uncles were there. There was even my little baby cousin. The party ended around 10:00 so by the time I got home I was exhausted. The next day I went to Church pretty early in the morning but At the end of Church I met up with my cousins and we had fun together. This was a cool and exciting weekend for me and I hope I can have more.

I had a pretty good weekend because I did a bunch of stuff but, I'm only going to talk about one. On Saturday my mom, my aunt, my cousin, my brother and I drove downtown Toronto in the "Leslie Ville" area. Then we all went into a bakery we were going to just go in and order and then go back to order and drive back home but, then while we were ordering a police officer came and ticketed the car that we came in. So we got a $30 ticket but we still had a good time anyway. My aunt and I got the crème brulee, my cousin just got the hot chocolate with a marshmallow, and my mom and my little brother got like a mango cupcake. And we all tried some free macaroons I thought they were really good so was the crème brulee. Then we just drove home and I guess this is where the story ends thanks for reading.

As I stepped onto the cold, solid ice, it never occurred to me that this hockey game would be as epic as it turned out to be, until the next few strides of my well- sharpened skates. Just as I passed the blue line, a beast of a kid ploughed me over. I flew into the boards, my helmet cracking the glass, and then I fell to the ground. It took me a while to recover and realise that the game hadn't even started yet, and I had already been smashed. I stared at the other team and noticed that they were all enormous, beasts of children. Some had scars, others had broken arms. None of these injuries seemed to bother any of them. I mean, I used to think I looked pretty tough with all of my hockey equipment on, but next to these guys, I looked like a little dweeb. I glanced at the coach, but quickly looked away. He carried a laser gun, so I decided it would be best not to make eye contact with the coach, or the players. But then I noticed my team, and I realized something. That wasn't my team. I turned my head towards the rink next to the one I was currently on. What I saw relieved me. My team was there, playing hockey with a bunch of little twerps that at least didn't have a coach that carried laser guns. I had entered the wrong rink, and now the other team had to deal with these goons alone. I smiled, and continued my first hockey game of the season on the other rink.

My weekend was just so tiring! My weekend was so tiring because starting Saturday I have to get up at 8:00am just to go to basketball tryouts and when I got there to my basketball tryouts something really surprised me when I got there. A trainer, a trainer was there waiting there to start coaching us and everybody was so nervous because they didn't know what the trainer was going to do. The trainer there was tall, buff, and very nice but they didn't know that yet. The way we started off practice was dribbling and I think we did almost every single kind of dribbling possible like back and forth, switch, criss cross, between the leg and just ponding the ball. When we were doing that I thought to myself what we were doing was easy until he made us dribble two balls at once while not looking down and reading the numbers he was holding up. Then break came and everybody was sweating already, just by doing dribbling they were sweating. After break was done we did some more things like shooting, offense, and defense. When it was time to go home and guess what my dad told me. He told me I had another tryout the next morning and I think you can probably picture how that went. So that's why my weekend was so tiring.

On the weekend I went to the farm to pick apples. The farm was called "Nature's Bounty". They had many different types of apples, a corn maze, pumpkins, and sheep. We went to specific apple trees to pick Gala apples. When we were done picking apples we went into the corn maze. In the maze we lost the path and had to push a lot of corn out of the way to get out. By the time we were out my little sister had started to cry. After that we went to pick pumpkins and got tiny ones to carve. While I chose pumpkins my sister went on a slide and did not want to come home but did after a while when she had gotten too tired to go on the slide anymore. When we got home we made apple pie. The pie's crust got burnt when it was done but the apples on the inside survived. This is what I did on my weekend.

This weekend was really something to die about. My cousin Hailey, my friend Ryan I had two sleepovers all weekend so we had a lot of fun. On Friday night, we went to go see 'Night of the Living Dead' at around 11:00 pm; the really scary thing was that the movie was so gruesome, people were actually running out of the theatre room screaming! I wasn't, but we all looked at each other & I said "If we can't beat 'em, join 'em right?" so we all ran out screaming too. Saturday morning came and we ate some cereal then headed for the beach. It was actually so cold! After the beach we went down to the river and we made an attempt to walk across a tree that coincidentally fell during a storm across the river from one side, to the other. I made it, but I ended up getting soaked! Ha-ha. Sunday came & we didn't do so much because it was raining but it was my best friend's birthday. His name is Ian, I couldn't ask for a friend better than him. Happy Fourteenth! Well, that was my crazy weekend; I almost died of laughter, & good memories to keep forever.
By the way, the whole movie thing about people was just a little white lie to get you kind of interested. I actually went to go see a movie called 'Contagion'. It's about a virus that spreads around the world & kills about six million people. Everything else is quite true.

This weekend made happiness in my life, apparently. My oldest sister's birthday was on Saturday and we treated her to go out and eat lunch at a fancy restaurant. My niece and nephew were pretty much a pain because they were so picky about all the food, except the ice cream. The day went on and when we came home, I had to baby sit the children since my two sisters and my brother in law went out to a club. It was nice and quiet until my nephew woke up at 12 a.m. My mom finally came home from work, took him, and put in back to sleep. Yet, I was still awake playing games on the GameCube. On Sunday, It made my weekend a bit happier because I had the computer and the TV. all to myself! Oh joy to this day! But sadly, school was on Monday so I had to sleep early. You can say that I did have a bad weekend with splattering pain, but nope, I had the weekend time of my life!

On Saturday, I had almost the worst time ever! In the morning, I had to go to swimming lessons, it was my first day in level 9. I didn't really want to go,but I had to. When I got there, I had to go to my new instructor. When class started we had to tread, it is my least favourite thing to do because its hard to stay floating in the deep end for too long. He made us pass a flutter board around, which sucks because I was getting really tired. I thought I was going to drown, but luckily I didn't. It was challenging because I had to fight the water to stay up. So after that horrible experience, we had to do laps. It wasn't that bad, but I hated it. When class was done, I was relieved from all of the struggles. So that, is what happened on my first day in level 9! But at least I got to go to the mall after that. I can't wait to go next week and show them that I can do it this time. I'm hoping that level 9 will be a little challenging and fun!
