Some of us still have not brought in our pledge forms or monies. This is not good. Cancer is a devastating disease that kills millions of Canadians every year. In your own lifetime, it is likely that you or someone you love will be affected by this awful disease. Let's remember that it's our Christian duty to help ourselves and others. We are raising money for a cure for cancer.
Have you done your part ?

Journal#1

                        My weekend by Anthonia

My sister's birthday party was the awesomest party I've ever thrown! My baby sister turned 1 year, so I decided to throw her a party. We decorated the house with ribbons, streamers and balloons. Mom invited up to 5 families; it was a small get together, but still a party. There was food, music and drinks. The birthday girl, who is my sister, didn't smile or dance for the guests. She's a quiet girl who likes to observe you before she accepts you. I kept the kids busy by giving them balloons to blow. Later, we popped all the balloons and the all screamed; my ears were ringing after that. Everyone had a blast, but I had the most fun.

MATH REVIEW

Percents can be seen as ratios... out of 100

Changing Percents to Decimals

The decimal point in a percent doesn't always appear but it's understood to be at the right of the whole number. For example, in 25%, the "invisible" decimal point is at the right of the 5. It is 25.
To change a percent to a decimal:
  • Move the decimal point two places to the left . (If the percent doesn't have two places to the left, add a zero to the left to create two decimal places)
  • Drop the percent sign
  • Remove any zeroes in the tenths place of a decimal (see chart below)
