He's still a dictator
What if everything in your life was picked out for you, but it was the life you didn't want? That's exactly how Heather's life is; the way she doesn't want it. Mr. Hoodhood is the most deliberately devious dad and dictator ever dealt with. His kids hate him for billions of reasons, and he probably doesn't even care. Not that his son played a part in The Tempest, not that he personally knows Horace Clarke and Joe Pepitone, but most of all he doesn't care that his daughter wants to go to college. It's actually a fact that when she told him that she was going to college he replied "No you're not... You start working for me on Monday". If I had written the book I would have said that Heather was the epitome of all anger, but that's just my opinion. And Mr. Hoodhood does all of this to show his kids that he only wants his own way. And that the only thing that he cares about is work. Would you ever act that way?
